Getting to Take That at the Etihad Stadium

Friday 19, Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 June and Wednesday 1 July 2026

The Etihad Stadium, welcomes Take That to the stage for three concerts in June and one in July. Fifty thousand people will attend each night and with many other events taking place in the city this summer, it's important you plan your journey to the venue.

Key travel advice

There will be a reliable and frequent tram service from the city centre to Etihad Campus, with services departing every 7.5 minutes.

The venue is located directly next to Etihad Campus tram stop and is served by trams on the Altrincham – Etihad Campus and the Eccles - Ashton-under-Lyne routes across both event days.

Contactless tap and go is the easiest way to pay for seamless travel on the tram network. Use your contactless card, phone or smart watch to tap in on the card reader at your tram stop before boarding, then tap out with the same card or device at your final stop. We’ll do the maths to work out your correct fare.

After each event finishes, we’re operating 15 shuttle buses from the Etihad Stadium to help transfer fans back to the city centre. Fans can purchase a ticket onboard the bus for £2.

The first bus will depart at 10pm, with the remaining buses operating on a load and go basis.

Please make your way to the stop on Ashton New Road / opposite Etihad Stadium to board a service towards the city centre.

Until further notice, an emergency one-way closure is in place on Alan Turing Way, northbound only from the junction of Ashton Old Road to Grey Mare Lane.

To reach the stadium, road users are advised to divert via Pin Mill Brow, Great Ancoats Street, Every Street and Ashton New Road.

Due to congestion along the diversion route, we're advising fans to expect longer journey times. Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey, as tram services will be busier than usual.

Travel by tram to The Etihad

There will be a reliable and frequent tram service from the city centre to Etihad Campus, with services departing every 7.5 minutes.

The venue is located directly next to Etihad Campus tram stop.

Trams will be running on the following service pattern on each night:

Bury - Victoria
Bury - Altrincham (via Market Street) (peak-time Saturday only) then Bury - Victoria (off-peak and Sunday)
Altrincham - Etihad Campus
Ashton-under-Lyne - Eccles via MediaCityUK
Rochdale Town Centre - East Didsbury via Exchange Square
East Didsbury - Shaw and Crompton via Exchange Square (peak-time Saturday only)
Manchester Airport - Piccadilly
The Trafford Centre - Deansgate-Castlefield

The last tram times will be:

To Ashton-under Lyne at 12:38am
To Eccles at 12:23am
To Altrincham at 12:30am
To city centre calling at Piccadilly, Piccadilly Gardens, St Peter's Square and Deansgate-Castlefield at 01:36am

In order to safely manage crowds post-event, Holt Town, Velopark and Clayton Hall (towards the city centre) and stops will be closed.

If you have to drive, did you know that there are 24 park and ride sites in Greater Manchester, where you can park your car for free and hop on the tram to your destination? The nearest park and ride sites to the Etihad are:

Ashton Moss - 183 spaces and 12 disabled spaces - 20 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
Ashton West - 184 spaces and 11 disabled spaces - 25 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
Ladywell - 332 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - 45 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.

Or, if travelling from further afield, you may want to consider leaving your car for free at:

Whitefield - 331 spaces and 13 disabled spaces - 40 minutes from Etihad Campus.
Radcliffe - 480 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - 40 minutes from Etihad Campus.

In the event that the Ashton Moss park and ride site is full, nearby additional parking can be found at Ashton West park and ride located to the rear of Ashton Leisure Park. Parking is not permitted on Alexandria Drive or Rayner Lane.

In addition, any cars parked outside the Ashton West park and ride site will be liable to enforcement by Ashton Leisure Park’s parking operator.

Contactless tap and go is the easiest way to pay for seamless travel across bus and tram on the Bee Network.

Use your contactless card, phone or smart watch on card readers and we’ll do the maths. Simple.

Taking the tram: just tap in on the card reader at your tram stop using your contactless card or device - before boarding, then tap out with the same card or device at your final stop.

If you're travelling by both bus and tram: keep tapping with the same card or device and we’ll make sure you pay no more than the capped fares. That’s unlimited bus and tram travel for a max of £9.50/day.

Etihad Campus is located in Zone 2. A return ticket from Manchester city centre costs £3.50 for an adult. Further information can be found on our tram ticket price webpage.

Travel on Bee Network buses

If you are intending to catch a bus to the Etihad, the following Bee Network bus services will bring you closest to the venue:

Along Ashton New Road - a 2-minute walk from the venue

Please note that these buses will operate on diversion post-event due to the road closures in place around the venue.

Along Alan Turing Way - a 2-minute walk from the venue

53 - Cheetham Hill - Higher Crumpsall - Old Trafford - Pendleton

Journey times could also be impacted due to the increased levels of traffic, so be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time for your travel.

Post-event shuttle bus

The Bee Bus single ‘hopper’ ticket costs £2 for adults and £1 for children. You can only buy this ticket on the bus.

Use this ticket for a single trip and you can then use the hopper ticket to travel on other Bee Network buses, for no additional cost, within 60 minutes of buying your ticket.

Just keep hold of your paper ticket and scan the QR code on your next bus.

Travel by car

Road Disruption - Emergency one-way closure of Alan Turing Way

Congestion on the roads close to the Etihad Campus will start to build from around two hours before the event as ticket holders begin to arrive.

An emergency one-way closure is in place on Alan Turing Way, northbound only from the junction of Ashton Old Road to Grey Mare Lane which will see an increase in journey times close to the venue.

Consider adding the additional journey time below if your route is via any of these roads:

Alan Turing Way (both directions): plan an additional 20 minutes into any journey by road.
Hyde Road (eastbound): expect an additional 15 minutes to be added to your journey.
Mancunian Way (westbound): plan for an extra 10 minutes of travel time.

Cycling and walking routes to The Etihad

Etihad Stadium is a 25-minute walk from Piccadilly station. The step-free walking route is well lit and clearly signposted through Manchester’s Ancoats and New Islington areas.

If you cycle via Merrill Street then onto the walking and cycle way by Holt Town tram stop, it takes just 10 minutes.

Manchester City have produced a downloadable map of both the CityLink and Ashton New Road routes.

Visit the Bee Active website to take a look at the area around the Etihad. This includes tram stops for those that would like to combine walking with Metrolink travel. Just type the postcode 'M11 3FF' for the arena, so that you may consider making a change to your travel habits.

Accessibility on the bus

Many buses have ramps and can accommodate wheelchairs. Some new buses also have display screens, route numbers, destination displays and audio-visual ‘next stop’ announcements.
