A week of unlimited bus travel in Greater Manchester now costs £21 for adults and £10.50 for children.
Individual bus operators may provide their own weekly bus ticket but only the 7 Day AnyBus Adult or Junior travelcard will allow you to travel all week with any operator within Greater Manchester.
You must have an ITSO smart card to load the travelcard on to – adults will need a get me there card or equivalent (Stagecoach Smart card for instance), while young people will require an igo card to benefit from the child fare.
The introduction of weekly capping is a further step towards a simpler fares structure for Greater Manchester that will integrate bus and tram travel by 2025, with rail services included by 2030.
Lower bus fares were introduced in Greater Manchester in September 2022, with single journeys capped at £2 for adults and £1 for children. A day of unlimited travel using any bus is capped at £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Single journey and unlimited day tickets
The introduction of simple and clear low bus fares is intended to support people in Greater Manchester with the increased cost of living.
In addition to weekly capped travelcards, you can travel by bus using the following tickets:
- Adults pay no more than £2 for a single bus journey, while a £5 1 day AnyBus Adult travelcard covers unlimited bus travel within the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester until 03.59am the following day.
- Children aged five to 16 will pay no more than £1 for any single bus journey. The 1 day AnyBus Junior travelcard will cover unlimited bus travel within Greater Manchester for just £2.50 a day.
- Children under the age of five will continue to travel on buses for free.
The new fares were introduced in September, 12 months ahead of the launch of the first franchised bus services in Greater Manchester in September 2023, marking an important milestone in the delivery of the Bee Network, our vision for a London-style, fully-integrated transport system.
What services can I use?
- The £2/£1 single fare covers a single journey that starts and ends within Greater Manchester.
- The 1 day Anybus travelcard and the AnyBus weekly travelcard can be used on any bus services within the System One boundary, which extends just outside of Greater Manchester in some locations. See map for details.
- The 1 day Anybus travelcard covers unlimited bus travel within the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester until 03.59am the following day.
- Capped fares also apply to Local Link and TfGM school/college services, it is not available on Ring and Ride services. For more information on travelling to school, visit our dedicated school bus webpage.
National capped scheme
- From 1 January to 31 March 2023, a national £2 single fares cap is being introduced for both Adult and Child fares.
- This has no impact on the single fares cap that was introduced for Greater Manchester in September, but will mean that fares for cross boundary journeys will be no more than £2 (on participating operator services) – see £2 bus fare cap - or contact your operator for more information.
