England Women v Brazil Women - Shuttle Bus

On Saturday 25 October, we're operating a shuttle bus service between Manchester city centre (near Victoria) and the Etihad Stadium, to help get fans to the England Women v Brazil Women fixture.

Getting to the game

Before the game, shuttle buses will operate from Stop NP on Corporation Street in Manchester city centre.
Buses will depart every 7 minutes from 3pm, with the last service departing at 4.59pm.
Fans will be dropped off on Ashton New Road by the stadium.

Returning to the city centre

Post-game, buses will operate from Ashton New Road (from bus stop on opposite side of road) for trips back to Manchester city centre.
Buses will operate on a load and go basis from approx. 6.30pm until 9pm.
Fans will alight the bus at Stop NP on Corporation Street.

The below tickets can only be purchased onboard the bus with both cash and contactless payments accepted:

ENCTS - Free

No other Bee Network ticket products will be available on the shuttle buses.

The venue is encouraging fans to travel as sustainably as possible and it is accessible by foot via the designated step-free walking route, bike, tram, bus and car.

For every Manchester City match, Transport for Greater Manchester and Manchester City operate bus services direct to the Etihad.

This season we have made small adjustments to some routes. These changes will see new stops added in Davyhulme, Tottington, Green Mount, Whitefield, Central Park and Rochdale.

The total number of buses in service this season are 18 and you can access more information regarding these routes below.

The buses have helped to provide an increasingly sustainable option for travelling to and from the Etihad Stadium, with around 700 people travelling on the buses each matchday.

Eighteen buses will run for every Men’s First Team match at the Etihad Stadium, including all Premier League, Champions League, and domestic cup competitions throughout the 2025/26 season.

Routes

Etihad Stadium is a 25-minute walk from Piccadilly station. The step-free walking route is well lit and clearly signposted through Manchester’s Ancoats and New Islington areas.

If you cycle via Merrill Street then onto the walking and cycle way by Holt Town tram stop, it takes just 10 minutes.

Manchester City have produced a downloadable map of both the CityLink and Ashton New Road routes.

Visit the Bee Active website to take a look at the area around the Etihad. This includes tram stops for those that would like to combine walking with Metrolink travel. Just type the postcode 'M11 3FF' for the arena, so that you may consider making a change to your travel habits.

The venue is located directly next to Etihad Campus tram stop and is served by the Ashton-under-Lyne to Eccles service every day.

The Etihad Campus stop is also served by the MediaCityUK to Etihad Campus service Monday-Saturday during peak hours, and the Altrincham to Etihad Campus service Monday-Saturday after peak hours and all-day Sunday.

On match days, there is an enhanced tram service to and from Etihad Campus stop.

The service connects you directly to key city centre destinations such as Piccadilly and Victoria and provides easy access to all 99 stops on the network across Greater Manchester.

In order to safely manage crowds post-match, Holt Town, Velopark and Clayton Hall (towards the city centre) and stops will be closed.

Metrolink are constantly improving the network for customers. Make sure you check the tram planned improvements webpage before you travel to see if any works will affect your route.

Park and ride

If you have to drive, did you know that there are 24 park and ride sites in Greater Manchester, where you can park your car for free and hop on the tram to your destination? The nearest park and ride sites to the Etihad are:

Whitefield (Bury line) - 331 spaces and 13 disabled spaces - 37 minutes from the Etihad.
Radcliffe (Bury line) - 480 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - 40 minutes from the Etihad.

In the event that the Ashton park and ride site is full, nearby additional parking can be found at Ashton West park and ride located to the rear of Ashton Leisure Park. Parking is not permitted on Alexandria Drive or Rayner Lane.

In addition, any cars parked outside the Ashton West park and ride site will be liable to enforcement by Ashton Leisure Park’s parking operator.

Tickets

Beat the queue at the machines and touch-in and out at the on-stop machines using contactless.

Save money and travel with the family using our family travelcard. Remember, this is only available on the on-stop ticket machines.

The stadium is located in Zone 2. A return ticket from Manchester city centre costs £3.50 for an adult. Further information can be found on our tram ticket price webpage.

Journey times could also be impacted due to the increased levels of traffic, so be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time for your travel.

Post-match shuttle bus

Alongside the matchday shuttle bus service, we also have a post-match shuttle bus service for supporters travelling to the city centre and Ashton-under-Lyne.

12 city centre shuttle bus services will operate from Ashton New Road, opposite the Tesla Garage and two shuttle bus services to Ashton from the opposite side.

Matchday diversions

Diversions will be in place from 90 minutes before kick-off until the area clears after the end of the match affecting the 216, 230 and 231 bus services.

Tickets

The Bee Bus single ‘hopper’ ticket costs £2 for adults and £1 for children. You can only buy this ticket on the bus.

Use this ticket for a single trip and you can then use the hopper ticket to travel on other Bee Network buses, for no additional cost, within 60 minutes of buying your ticket.

Just keep hold of your paper ticket and scan the QR code on your next bus.

Congestion on the roads close to the Etihad Campus will start to build from around two hours before each match as ticket holders begin to arrive.

According to match day travel data to the Etihad Campus, consider adding the additional journey time below if your route is via any of the roads below:

Alan Turing Way (both directions): plan an additional 20 minutes into any journey by road.
Hyde Road (eastbound): expect an additional 15 minutes to be added to your journey.
Mancunian Way (westbound): plan for an extra 10 minutes of travel time.

Travel times may vary dependent on a variety of factors, including whether it is an evening or weekend fixture and whether there are other events taking place in Manchester. We will continue to update this webpage as our knowledge of journey times develops.

Post-match, several road closures will be in place immediately to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. They will be in place for approximately 20 minutes. The roads affected are as follows:

Ashton New Road between Alan Turing Way and Darley Street
Grey Mare Lane between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way
Merrill Street between Pollard Street and Ashton New Road

Event parking

A strictly enforced resident parking scheme is in place on the streets around the Etihad Campus, which is made clear through on-street signage. You can see the areas where parking permits are required and further parking information on the map below:

There are thousands of car parking space available in the city centre on an evening and weekend, including car parks at the city's universities, such as Booth Street West car park off Oxford Road. The walk to the Etihad is approximately 30 minutes from Booth Street West car park.

If you have to drive, take a look at our city centre parking map (please note this map shows locations only) or consider using a Metrolink Park and Ride site.

Parking is also available at the official car park at the ground. In order to get a parking space, you must buy one in advance and this is done on a match-by-match basis. Pre-book your parking space.

Accessibility on the bus

Many buses have ramps and can accommodate wheelchairs. Some new buses also have display screens, route numbers, destination displays and audio-visual ‘next stop’ announcements.

A lot of bus operators have low floor buses to make it easier for people who use wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and those with small children and pushchairs.
